There are times in our lives when we might find ourselves disconnected from our own inner world, unsure of who we are or what we want. In response to fear and shame we tend to  deny or lack access to important parts of ourselves, leaving us feeling fractured and disjointed. We might, in turn, repeat unhelpful cycles or relationship patterns as a way to cope with the inner chaos. Realizing you might be stuck in a loop can feel overwhelming to work through without support.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a process through which we can be curious about all our parts without judgment or reactivity. We can explore how our past informs our present and identify why we may be stuck in the cycle we're in. It is through the therapeutic relationship that we can become more integrated in our experience and discover what it is we truly want.

I offer long-term talk therapy for individuals, couples, and families as well as psychoanalytically oriented play therapy. If you are interested in making a change or are craving a clearer understanding of yourself, please feel free to reach out to me. I'm happy to provide a complimentary 15-minute consultation to determine if we might be a good fit.

A Note on Polyphony

In literature, polyphony is the weaving together of different voices and narrative perspectives to create a more honest and cohesive story. I believe that the therapeutic process grants us the holding and the tools necessary to weave together our disjointed parts to create a more cohesive sense of self.
